What did I learn about storytelling?
While working on my six word memoirs I got stuck plenty of times. I am someone who needs to write with tons of detail and has to explain every point. Either having 7 words or 5, coming up with just 6 was actually really tough. I ended up finishing all 8 and realizing that storytelling doesn't always have to be told in novel form or 10 pages long. It can simply be told within 6 words.
Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills?
I used my knowledge about storytelling skills when I had to figure out what words to use while writing my six word memoirs. I wanted to make my six words fit nicely and tell the story exactly how I read it. I had to move and change words around. because they didn't go well in my sentence. Certain words I chose told the story differently and changed the meaning completely.
What did I learn as a reader, writer, thinker, storyteller?
As a reader I definitely learned that six words can explain a lot. They can tell a story and describe an event in a very short form yet still meaningful. I also learned to read the sentence in different ways and try to figure out the broad meaning behind the six words. As a writer I learned to take my time and figure out what word fits where. I also learned that not every idea and thought has to be expressed in a lot of detail.

What did I learn about storytelling?
I have learned that it is quite difficult to tell a story in 6 words. To tell a story in 6 words, the only things that you really can state is your point. You cannot elaborate or explain yourself, that is what the reader has to try and figure out. Since you only have a maximum of 6 words, a picture can really help make that difference. If you can find an image that really connects with your words, it helps expand the basic information given.
Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills?
I showed my knowledge by really trying to get the point across in the least amount of words possible. I would try to figure out what I wanted to say and then I would try to change the words around to make it flow nicer and sound better. I also would try and find the best image I could possible to represent the words I had wrote. I would also try and find the font that best fit the mood. By doing these things, it could help with my storytelling skills.
What did I learn as a reader, writer, thinker, storyteller?
As a reader and a thinker, I have learned that you should read between the lines and make sense of things that do not provide you with enough information. In the past, I have read books and literally just read them. I didn't expand or take the time to think about what I was actually reading. As a writer, I have learned that not everybody knows what you are thinking and people may not understand what you are trying to get across. You need to write to express what you want to say, but in a way that the majority of people can understand.
What did I learn about storytelling?
For this assignment I learned there are many steps to writing a good story. First I learned how to simplify a story by using good word choice. As I started this concept was very tricky, having only six words to convey a message was harder than I thought it would be. I found I constantly wanted to use more words to describe one thing, when all I really needed was one word to encompass the entire thought. Punctuation also played a key part in creating the feeling of the story. By using the proper punctuation I was able to change a mood from cheery to sad just with a period. Overall I learned that storytelling is a process that takes lots of thought and different skills to portray the right message.
Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills?
I used my knowledge of punctuation the most in my six word memoirs. An example of this is on my fourth memoir about the past. I knew when I found the picture that I wanted to convey a certain feeling, making the reader feel empathy or sadness towards the message that many of us have expierenced. When I chose the words, they made fit the picture but it felt like a blank thought, no emotion. By adding the exclamation mark at the end of "best friends for life" it have the piece a happy, cheery feeling. But when I added the period after "we said" it gave the message a abrupt stop and flipped the feeling to the complete opposite. It showed how life, words, stories, can complete change in a second. I also used punctuation in many of the other memoirs but this one stuck out the most to me.

As a reader I learned that only a few words can say a message just as well as 100 words, after reading the memoirs and the author's notes, the realized that the initial message I received was just emphasised through a paragraph below. As a storyteller, I learned to look at my own story and see where I could relate to others to convey a universal message that would be easy to understand but still meaningful and well thought out.

What did I learn about storytelling ?
I did not know that you could tell a story with only with six words and it's so cool. I told you about my story with the words in the picture. Using the two together help it make more sense. It was hard way to make it only with six words but it was a fun way to go. I want to do it again time if I came back to school.
Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills ?
For example in the picture of my bird I picked a good filter that make it have orange tint to Match the picture and the words. I tried to get the words to make sense in order to get my idea across. I came up with the words and then I chose a picture to put the words on it. I made the font big to put more attention on the words. These are the skill I used for my storytelling .

This is the first time I did 6 word members and as thinker and storyteller it is cool think to do. I like do this sometime again because it was fun to do. As a reader I learned to think a bit about how things are said in my six word memoirs. As a thinker it makes me think more because you have to get the story out and picture. This definitely got me thinking more.

What did I learn about storytelling?
During this assignment I learned that storytelling doesn’t just have to be in novel format. Before this, I used to think that a story was something that was explained in pages worth of words. But now I have learned that you can use only six words to get your point across, and it’s just as effective. Sometimes less is more, and too much detail is overwhelming and ineffective. I also learned that it’s not as easy as it seems to say something in exactly six words. It takes a lot of creativity and word play skills to condense what you want to say into six words.
Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills?
I tried to show my knowledge about storytelling skills in my usage of punctuation, but most of my memoirs didn’t have a huge need for punctuation. I think I conveyed it more in the way I put my words together. When I was thinking of words to put with my pictures, a lot of the time my memoirs ended up being either one too little or one too many letters, and I had to find a way to fix it into six. I tried to keep them as simple and relevant to the picture as possible. With the punctuation I did use, I used it to convey a certain type of emotion with each memoir so readers could understand how I felt during that time.

As a reader, I learned that just because a story is short, it doesn’t mean it’s written poorly or has a bad storyline. Each story has its own meaning and purpose, and just like you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover, you shouldn’t judge a story by its length. As a writer, I learned that sometimes you’ll find less is more. You don’t always need a paragraph, a page or even 500 pages to get the point across. Sometimes as little as a photo and a couple words will suffice. It’s just your choice of words and use of punctuation that matters.
What did I learn about storytelling?
One of the things I learned about storytelling is that stories don't always have to be words. Although we used words in this project, I learned that sometimes pictures can tell just as much of a story as words can. I also learned that minimal words can and equivalent story as 60. This project showed me that stories can very easily be told in minimal words and that sometimes, saying less may actually be better than saying more. Finally, I learned that punctuation is key in storytelling. Explanation marks, ellipsis' and other forms of punctuation add to your story.
Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills?
I showed that punctuation is very important in storytelling when I used various different forms in my memoirs. I used explanation marks, commas and ellipsis' to add to each memoir and help tell the story. I learned through this assignment that pictures can sometimes tell more of a story than words. I noticed this more so with my classmates memoirs, but in two of mine also. In my memoirs for hate and my past, I think that the picture tells just as much of a story, if not more, than the actual memoir does.

From this assignment, I learned that as a writer and storyteller you can use minimal words to tell a story. The saying "less is more" describes one of the things I learned. It was a challenge to use just six words to describe a whole aspect of your life, but it gave me a new respect for writers and storytellers. I also learned that some words can have different meanings when telling a story. As a reader, I learned that not every sentence means what you think it does. Sometimes you have to read a sentence or phrase 2 or more times before you can truly understand the meaning behind it.
What did I learn about storytelling?
I learned that you don't need dialogue, Scripts, or words to tell a vivid, in-depth, compelling story. I learned that writing a story doesn't have to come with large masses of confusing, boring words; but short and to-the-point phrases, not long paragraphs that drag on for 10-15 minutes, just simple phrases. I used to see writing as a large novel, a dictionary jam-packed full of words, or an entire column of the New-York Times. Granted, that is still considered writing or storytelling in one form or another, but I've learned to respect and appreciate the little things; such as the dialogue in a comic strip or the headlines on a newspaper a whole lot more. The fact of the matter is that they all tell a story, some may be "more intelligent" than others, but overall they all still have something to talk about or share.
Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills?
I showed my knowledge when I decided that my memoir entitled "Friends come and go, like Herpes" should have an "older look" to it than my picture entitled "Dumped dog in freezing, cold, lake." I showed my knowledge every time I decided that a picture needed a different color, or shade, or overall feel. I took the picture "Long-distance relationships are really satisfying" eight or nine times because I didn't like where I had to place the words. When I first tried writing that memoir, I wanted to incorporate symbols, rather than ordinary words but I think words got across my point faster and more effectively.
What did I learn as a reader, storyteller, thinker?
I learned that it's okay to express my opinions, thoughts, beliefs, and ideas in a shorter, simpler way. Apparently people are okay with me using symbols and emoticons to express myself (hopefully, they take it just as serious as they would regular dialogue in a story.) As a reader, I learned to look at short pieces of work (like the words used in a peanuts cartoon.) as a viable way of relaying information or trying to connect to the viewer or demographic. I learned to appreciate the little things that authors, screen writers, poets, and critics do to keep the plot flowing in a story or message. Finally, I learned that a symbol like "<3" or "(-:" is just as effective (in the right context) as using the written word to get a point or story moving in the right direction.

I learn that storytelling have a power over ones mind. I love being entertained, a good story entertains but a great story knows that it has in its arsenal the ability to do so much more. The best stories makes me feel something, it mess with my emotions and get me all ball up into that story. That a good story is a good story for a reason, it's suppose to cheer you up and make you happy and smiling.
I showed my knowledge of storytelling when I was working on my authors note for the six words mems. Talking about the background of the photo and the words was great. I when really deep in to it and once I started it was hard to stop because I had all these things to say. When I did my reading survey, that's when the storytelling was great for me cause I could just go on about the topics.
I learned that as a reader you need patience which I don't have, and you need to be able to love the book you are reading. As a writer I had to go beyond the point to make sense in all that I was doing. As a thinker it was different, I felt that my mind was in a different place and a place that I wanted it to be in. As a storyteller I learned that there's always two sides to one story and you just have to go with the one that feels right.
As a story teller I learned that you don't have to be so literal when your telling your stories. By being limited to only 6 words it kind of forces you to give a basic outline of what your trying to say and leave the readers to interpret it the way they want to. Also by doing this it gives people different opinions about your writing and can open up debates about the story.
I used my knowledge of story telling skills I think in my hate memoir. In that memoir it brings up a topic not to openly talked about and that can be pretty controversial because there are to two very different opinions on the subject and it still affects a lot of peoples lives today. I also think I used my story telling skills on the memoir about my brother because I think a lot of people can relate to that and it probably makes them think about their own family.
As a writer I learnt that the phrase "a picture is worth a thousand words" really applies to this assignment because it not so much the words in your story your using to tell your story but the picture you chose. Also puncutation to tell story really helped when trying to emphasize whaat you were trying to say

I learnt that you don't need a novel to tell a story; all you need are a few simple words - if that. You can tell a story using only pictures or emoticons, you can tell a story using hand gestures, you can use a slideshow of photographs, anything really. A story is a way of telling someone something and I believe you can do that in any way you please. We don't even realize it, but we tell people bits of stories everyday. The way we dress, how we talk, who our friends are, etc. Sometimes less really is more. Sure, you can tell your friend a story by sending them a paragraph long text message OR you can tell them in person the next day, using less words and more body language. Body language is a huge part of storytelling.

I expressed my storytelling skills in my six word memoirs as well as my personal text posts on the blog. Obviously writing a six word memoir shows how much I know about storytelling, but my personal posts are a lot more well, personal. In those text posts, I tell stories and I didn't even really realize it at the time. I just wrote about my day and used a lot of internal thoughts and comments which is a great way to tell a story. Don't just give people the facts, tell them your opinions and how you feel about it!

I learnt to read into things more (read between the lines) but also keep it simple at the same time. Sometimes the message is clear and simple, other times you need to look deeper within to find the hidden meaning. I think this project helped me to become a better writer because I learnt a lot about punctuation and grammar. I learnt about how a few words can literally tell a whole story. As a thinker, this project allowed me to work on my analyzing skills and it helped me to realize that I really don't know much about people I thought I knew. Seeing other peoples' six word memoirs really opened my eyes about how little I truly know them. I learnt that I need to stop judging people by their reputations and looks and get to actually know them before I say anything.

I learnt that when you tell a story, every word counts. You must choose your words carefully and make sure they will benefit the reader's experience. I also learnt that it is important to use punctuation carefully. It can completely change the atmosphere of a sentence. For example: "Let's eat John!" and "Let's eat, John!" are two very different sentences. The first implies cannibalism, the second is someone asking John to get some lunch. Another thing I learnt was that you don't need 20 pages to tell a story. Even six words can have the same impact as 100, if you use your choice of words carefully.

As a reader, I learnt to never look over any word the author includes. I saw that a good writer always chooses words with great care. As a storyteller, I learnt that you can tell a short story and still get the point across. (I'm known for long, strung-out stories.) When I tell a story I can leave out certain details, and it will still be just as effective to the listener. I learnt I should never over or underestimate words I read, hear, or say. I learnt that I should filter through my (sometimes brainless) head what I'm going to say to someone. I should think before I speak, and be quick to listen and slow to speak.

The last time I was asked to write 500 word story, I was not able to explain all I wanted to say in so little words. I ended up handing in a story that was 1300 words. For that particular assignment my teacher was more than happy that I wrote double the amount of words, however for this assignment, that wasn't the case. One my be able to sense my frustration at the beginning of this project when I had to communicate a story using only six words. However, through this assignment, I was able to learn and appreciate the other ways of storytelling, whether it be with visuals or the importance of punctuation. It's not always the amount of words that communicates a story.

My knowledge in storytelling was shown with the links I made from my text to the image. Not all of my pictures had a literal sense to my six words but I was still able to communicate my idea clearly. I was also able to show my knowledge in storytelling through my images with the way I edited them. The filters, colours and focal points I used had meaning and helped present my story. The punctuation I used was also a way to show the tone towards the subject I was talking about. All of these aspects were things that I did deliberately to help transmit my ideas through my memoirs.

Something I found very interesting as a storyteller was that more words does not make a story is better. I have an issue with saying things that may not be relevant when I am telling a story. This assignment has helped me realize that less is more sometimes while telling a story. Even though lots of the stories I will tell in the future will exceed six words, I will still keep this in mind. As far as what I learned as a writer, with the criteria of six words, I learned where the places were that I could get away with less words and still communicate an idea. That, and also being able to realize where two words could be combined into one, or which words would describe what I was trying to say best. It was all a balancing act when it came to the exact number of words you had to present your story.

I learned that it doesn't take much to tell a story. Stories don't have to be several paragraphs in length explaining every little detail, they can be as simple as a single picture. For our six word memoirs, we learned how to tell a story with six words and a picture. It was a little difficult to take a story and turn it into only six words, but it was also interesting to see that you can tell a story without explaining every little detail. The picture helps lead the reader in the right direction, but only having six words, a lot of the story is left for the reader to figure out.

I showed my knowledge of storytelling skills by using the appropriate punctuation to convey my feelings for each specific memoir. My choice of wording shows my knowledge for storytelling skills because I could only use six words to tell a story. I had to narrow my words down or try and fit more words in that would still make sense while portraying my exact thoughts to the image and memory. It was also important to use the correct fonts, colours, filters and effects to carry my emotion through the image. I tried to show this in each memoir, for example in my memoir on Christmas with the wording "Most wonderful time of the year", I used an effect to make the image look older. By making the image look older, it helped show that the image was from the past. I kept the colours and the script writing to still give the image life and convey the happy feeling. All of these little steps helped in telling a story.

After reading all of my classmates six word memoirs, I learned to be more open minded. Not being behind the choice of picture and words, I learned that it was left up to me as a reader to make up what I thought their stories were with the information and visuals they gave me. I also learned that six words can actually say a lot about an image and memory which was very intriguing to me. As a writer I learned that I could narrow down all of my emotions and descriptions simply into six words. A lot of the time I am used to giving out every little detail to a story and continuing to expand on my thoughts but for this assignment, I had to focus on choosing my words wisely. As a thinker I learned how to think in six words yet still be able to tell people a story. At first it was hard but with a little practice, each memoir became easier.

As a reader, I realized that sometimes, less really is more. I always find myself so consumed by a story that I will read hundreds of pages and be fine with all of this time wasted. In reality, I've found out that some of the best stories are only one sentence. One picture+ one word= A short, sweet, and to the point story. It's crazy! I found that depending on the word choices and punctuation you can easily tell a story, it's up to the reader to make the detail and go beyond what is shown. I learnt that it wasn't easy to come up with six words on the spot and it took a while to figure out the right words to use to fit in for the story you are trying to tell. To me a story was always something more then six words and had plenty of detail. I learnt now that it may not have plenty of detail or a main point that you can tell right away but you can still tell a story in just six words.

You don't have to describe everything with extreme detail, that it can be as easy as just 6 words. With a picture it just made it easier to tell/explain and it added to the story. Lots of it was up to the reader to figure out and imagine which is why it was good for us to explain ourselves in our Writer's Note. At first, I found it difficult hoe we only had 6 words to use, but it taught me to choose my words carefully, every word counts, and that punctuation plays a big role.

Depending on the certain words I chose, I would either end it with an exclamation mark, period or nothing at all to make the reader feel a certain emotion. Even picking an exact font/colour demonstrates this because I would chose something that best fits the mood.

I learned how much a photo can truly help to tell a story. The pictures help tell the story of the memoirs because its hard to describe a main idea in six words. The pictures help to show what you're talking about, or what your memoir is about. I know, that many of mine could have many meanings but the picture shows who or what it was directed too.

I showed my knowledge of story telling by carefully selecting the words I did. You needed to be able to tell a story in six words, so the words you use are very important. My words were all selected so they could perfectly convey the message I was trying to convey. When you have a limited number of words, the few you do pick need to be just right.

During this assignment I’ve realized that not all stories needed to be long written novels. Not just the six words in our six word memoirs helped tell the story, but also the pictures. You hear the expression all the time “a picture says 1000 words” in this case they do. Along with the six words we’ve wrote, the picture as well as the punctuation helps tell the story. You don’t need a novel to tell a story. By choosing the right combination of six words and picture, you are able to tell a complex story.

If you are wanting to tell a story in six words you need to be straight to the point by using words that a descriptive. I was able to use punctuation to help get my point across more effectively. I also used visuals to help tell the story. But choosing pictures that help elaborate on the story I was able to make what I was talking about more clearly to the reader.

I never realized how six words and a picture could open up a whole new thinking experience for you. As I read through my fellow classmates work I began to think what their stories were about. This assignment really made you think of all the possible ways you can say the same thing. I know when I was creating my six word memoir I would have to carefully chose the words I was going to use making sure the sentence was not over six words. I’ve learned from this assignment that there is hundreds of ways you can tell a story you just need to be creative.

With doing the 6 word memoirs I learned a number of ways how text and language can affect your stories! One way was that I learned that you don’t need to write a lot of text to create a story with a lot of detail! A lot of the 6 word memoirs in both classes told stories that had so much detail, in 6 words and a picture! What I also think helped with these details, are the punctuation and the vocabulary. The punctuation was able to set the tone as well as the pace that readers read the sentence in their head! Also depending in the word selection it also helped tell the stories with more detail. The picture a person chose also helped get the message in a clearer way.

I showed my knowledge in story telling when I chose the layout of my memoirs. This included the colour and font of my texts, the pictures I chose, and the vocabulary I used. For my memoirs I always wanted to set a certain mood the reader reads the text in. I would set the mood by placing the texts in different colours. For example if I wanted to create a happy mood as my friend memoir is in, I chose a bright colour such as yellow, as bright colours are mostly seen as happy colours. For my pictures I decided to mostly do pictures of the actual subject. In one of my memoirs I decided to change the wording to both connect to the subject of my memoir as well as the picture. This helped connect the story even better because it showed it in a more artistic way. For most of my memoirs I decided to chose simple words that would get my story across in a way the clear and simple, as most of my stories are reflecting myself and I am a pretty simple person.

As a storyteller and writer I learned that you really do not have to write huge stories to get a point across! This will help me in the future as writing insanely long stories has always been a problem for me! I can take this lesson to better create stories as well as make them more interesting and will help keep my readers interested! As a reader I was able to look at my fellow classmates work and see ways that I could improve in my creativity and presentation! It also let me get to know some of my other classmates which is always nice! I believe that seeing my classmates work and seeing that I have ways to improve will help me create better works of art in my writing!
What did I learn about storytelling?
When it comes to storytelling I have learned that how you word things and the words that you use are very important. This is especially important if you don’t want what you are saying to drag on. Using the right word choice might better explain who you are as the writer and lets the reader know almost exactly what you’re trying to get across. I also learned that it’s important to know when to leave out the more insignificant details and share the ones that are important and are more relevant since I tend to get off topic. When it comes to storytelling you also want to keep the attention of the audience or reader and that is also why it’s better to stick to the big ideas and the facts that are important or key to it so that your audience knows the main story that is being shown.
Where did I show my knowledge about using storytelling skills?
I managed to show my knowledge of storytelling when I used punctuation so that I had the important pauses or almost shouts of excitement or lack of these. I made sure to do this so it would almost like hearing how I would say it to them if I could. With the photos it helped a lot but the pictures that I used could have meant anything. Since I could only use six words, it made me think of what exactly I was trying to show and then do my best to explain it very specifically. I showed my storytelling skills by making sure that both the photo and the words I chose would correspond together in a way I saw fit. Since I didn’t take those pictures specifically for this assignment I had to word what I said carefully.

As a reader I would say that I need to dig beneath the surface of words to find meanings and with this particular assignment I made sure to connect other’s writing with the photos they showed. When it comes to being a writer, I learned that words can have multiple meanings. Not just different meanings for you as the writer but for the people who are reading that you might have not even thought of. I’m not much of a thinker, besides randomly spacing out on occasion. When I think of myself as a thinker I learned from this assignment that it’s a good idea to think of your personality and how you can project that into writing and what you can control how other people think of you by your writing style. As a storyteller I’ve learned that often the stories are easy for me to understand but obviously I lived them myself but other people might be confused about what happened in what I’m trying to say.

When it comes to storytelling I feel that I’m not very good at doing it. Throughout storytelling I have learned that the words and picture are very important when it comes to writing six word memoirs. I feel that when you are writing six word memoirs if you have good punctuation and a great photo that all goes well together I think the audience will be able to understand what you are trying to say. I think that you don’t have to be a creative person to make six word memoirs but you want your audience to know what you are talking about so I feel that you might want to go over your own limit and be more creative than you may ever be.

As I was writing my six word memoirs I think that I didn’t use most of my storytelling because I am not a creative person. Throughout my memoirs I used punctuation and I used a picture that would goes well with everything and what would make sense to not only me but to everyone else. I think I could have worked more on my punctuation and I could have been more creative.

As a thinker I feel that sometimes you have to go behind the words and really figure out what they really mean and know the true definition. I think by doing these assignment we are a lot of choice of what we could do in order to make some of our work creative and something that we could be proud of and look back on it and just be proud of our self’s that we created something that turned out to be something great and just knowing that we work hard. I learned that sometimes a story isn't about all the minor details you provide as an author. Readers can build off the simple point you've written and create their own details and stories. I also learned that a picture can worth a thousand words. A reader can read your simple sentence and then look at your picture and then it's suddenly like the whole story can be made crystal clear. Which says that in telling a story a picture can add so much depth because it can help show the emotion in the story.
2 Where did I show my knowledge in storytelling skills?
I showed my knowledge in story telling by using sentences that are to the point and yet detailed at the same time. Also in my photo selection when some of my sentences were more complex my picture was a bit simpler to ease the readers thoughts and when the sentence was simpler I used a more complexed, metaphorical picture to add some depth to the memoir. Punctuation played a role because it can quickly change the mood of the story or thought. A period can change something from happy to very serious. There are many things needed to tie together a story and I hope I incorporated them all.

As I reader I learned there is much more to a story than the words we see and that in order to see that we have to read between the lines or in this case words. As a thinker I learned that in order to understand everything I am reading I need to be able to see punctuation or an image to help tie the thoughts together. As a writer I learned to simplify my thoughts and get my point out quicker. Finally as a storyteller I learned there are far too many elements of a story to matter in six words but I hope to be able to get closer as the semester progresses.

These 6 word memoirs are a great demonstration of how stories don't need to be lengths of books to be considered stories. 6 meaningful words accompanied by a picture can mean more than a whole novel. I noticed a lot of memoirs made my fellow students that are very simple, but must have a lot of meaning. It's very interesting that a few simple words can mean so much to one person. It allows people to express themselves quite easily, rather than writing paragraphs to explain what they want to say.

I showed my knowledge of using storytelling skills by the punctuation in 6 word memoirs. Commas and punctuation marks can add so much to a sentence, and reshape the message completely. It's important to use punctuation properly, so you are able to portray your idea correctly. I thought I used pictures to tell the story as well. The picture can draw a person in at first, and then have them read deeper into the story.

I learned that there are many different ways to tell a story. One short sentence can mean more than a book in its entirety. It was difficult to think of a meaningful quote using only 6 words, but I felt the limitation allowed me to narrow down the words that actually meant something. It was interesting to see what everyone else came up with, and to see what matters to other people.

I think a picture can tell a story just itself, because they really are worth 100 words. I think the words on the picture helped just for the reader to get an idea of the story and the picture told the rest. So I learned that stories can be told in different ways and don't have to be very long.

I think I showed my knowledge in story telling skills in my choice of picture and punctuation. I think the choice of picture has a really big impact on the story and I tried my best to choose pictures that fit well. I also think I showed my knowledge in the punctuation. I tried to punctuate my memoir so that you can tell what the overall feel of the memoir was. If it was an exciting one i'd us a "!" or if it was serous i'd use a ".".

I learned that stories don't need to be long and detailed in order to be good or make an impact. You can read a whole novel and still not really understand what the meaning was but you can read a memoir and completely understand what it's about. This happened to me while I was looking at some of the memoirs from the class. I learned that sometimes it's good to keep it short because it can leave people thinking about your story.
